Notes. Minnesota Statutes 148.231 subd. 1(c): APRN renewal requires evidence of current certification or recertification in the APRN role by a nationally accredited body recognized by the board. The statute sets no APRN hour count; the Board of Nursing site (blocked by a bot check here) is reported to say current certification on file covers the RN 24-contact-hour requirement and that APRN CE is set by the certifying organization. Confirm with the board.

Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologist assistants usually also maintain national certification, which has its own cycle. The recertification basics guide explains how that fits alongside state rules.
