- Every 2 years
Required topics
No mandated topics are recorded for this profession in this state. That is not the same as the board having none, so confirm with the board.
Notes. 26 V.S.A. 1614 (as amended eff. June 8, 2026): an APRN renewal application must include documentation of current certification by a national APRN specialty certifying organization and a current collaborative provider agreement if required for transition to practice. No CE hour count is set in the statute; the Board's rules (section 4-8(d)) were not readable. A 2026 bill (H.588) would add a CE pathway. Hours recorded as 0 means no statutory hour count.

Notes. 26 V.S.A. 1656: anesthesiologist assistant certifications renew every two years on an application, the fee and proof of current active NCCAA certification. The statute states no separate state CME hours and the Board's AA rules were not read, so hours are not recorded.

Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologist assistants usually also maintain national certification, which has its own cycle. The recertification basics guide explains how that fits alongside state rules.
